DSL Connection Type

Solution DSL customers authenticate on the Internet using "PPPOE". PPPOE requires a 'client' to authenticate.

If you must click an ICON on your Computer to first login to the Internet, then you have a 'Bridged DSL' connection.

If you do NOT need to connect to the Internet via 'login' AND you only have DSL modem (no router) then you have a 'Routed PPPOE DSL' connection.

When setting up a Wifi router customers that have Bridged DSL connection must select "My ISP Uses PPPOE" and enter thier provided Login informtation.

When setting up a Wifi router customers that have Routed DSL connection must select "DHCP" or "Dynamic" as thier DSL "modem" is already performing the PPPOE Authentication
