goZoom has obtained licensing for the newly released 3.65 GHz radio spectrum in the "Tier 4 rural" area of Renfrew/Arnprior.
Perhaps the greatest impediment to providing competitive High Speed Fixed Wireless service in the 'Urban' areas is the level of Radio Frequency noise we now see in the unlicensed spectrum. This noise is caused by any number of wireless devices, but mainly from the 'Wifi' routers that are in use virtually everywhere that there's broadband.
By obtaining a License to operate in a protected portion of the radio spectrum we will now be able to deliver High Speed Service more securely and effectively into Urban areas. Most importantly though, this Licensed spectrum will allow us to relieved MORE bandwidth than ever to the customer.
The first step in that direction is our Brand New Commercial Fixed Wireless service.
Designed for Medium to Large business customers who need more bandwidth; our new Commercial Service provides speeds well beyond those currently available in these locations, at prices you would expect in dense metropolitan areas.
Commercial customers are connected into goZoom's highspeed wireless network via Licenced frequency, or "spectrum". Licenced spectrum that is Legally usable for the purposes of highspeed is a very rare commodity. Operating in a frequency that is not licensed to that user, can result in some very bad things happening to both the user and those who's spectrum that user is interfering with.
This makes it very important to manage the amount of spectrum we use in locality. To conserve spectrum we operate on a 'Narrow channel', and rely on multiple polarity transmitters and receivers, clear Fresnel and highly compressed data to maximize the radio data transfer rate ("speed").
All that translates into some very stringent criteria for Commercial installs. If the customer location does not meet these requirements we will not install the service
Commercial customers are allocated a weighted fair queue at 80% of the combined data transfer rate, weighted toward Download. This allows us to maximize the TDMA clocking on limited spectrum and deliver the best possible performance to our customers.
